seeing a world in a grain

It’s a photo of starch grains, from the storage organ of a plant, stained with iodine. Somehow it reminds me of a full moon.

Taken eons ago, during General Biology lab session in mid-July 2009, by placing my two megapixel Nokia 5320 over the eyepiece of a microscope. The photo is surprisingly clear!
