a somewhat atas lunch

On Tuesday, Daphne, Sze Yong and I went to Caffe Pralet for lunch, and each ordered a set meal.

We waited impatiently for our food!

Finally, our food arrived!

Sze Yong’s baked rice! I tried a tiny mouthful – it was nice and cheesy!

My roast chicken and avocado sandwich, which was flavourful as usual. It was a little on the dry side, but nothing a little mayonnaise couldn’t fix.

I love the citrusy dressing they added to the salad served on the side – must remember to ask where they get it from! :P

And Daphne’s light chicken pasta. Never seen pasta served so wet in my life. :P

To Daphne’s dismay, her pasta contained little pieces of capsicum, which she disliked immensely, so she picked out every single last piece and lined them up on the edge of the plate. She also regaled us with a story about a nightmare she had, in which giant whole capsicums chased her around. It must’ve been really scary for her but amusing for us to hear about it! :P

And finally, dessert!

We tried all the cakes. Sze Yong’s cheesecake was rich and good, and something you could eat until jelak. My chocolate raspberry cake was also rich and good, with a slightly tart edge that cut the richness. And Daphne’s blackforest cake was also rich and good, with complex flavours and textures. So we unanimously declared the blackforest cake the winner!!! :D
