the solitary diner

Decided to end a stressful week at work by going for a solitary dinner at Great World City. Had a craving for Japanese curry, so I ended up at Ebiboshi Shotenagai, which actually houses three dining brands under one roof: Uomasa (sushi and sashimi), Bishamon (ramen) and Bentendo (Japanese fusion).

Ordered a Bishamon curry rice ($14.50), which had pork katsu, tempura prawns and fried chicken, and came with a salad on the side.

The curry, which contained quite a few pieces of carrots and potatoes, was delicious and probably on par with Sushi Tei’s. The pork katsu was crispy on the outside and juicy inside: somewhat better than Tonkichi’s, but not as good as Tonkatsu by Ma Maison’s. The tempura prawns were good, but the pieces of fried chicken were soft and kinda icky.

Overall, a very hearty meal! Luckily I had asked for less rice (and they did give me a pretty small scoop), cos I was super full after finishing everything!

Oh and lest anyone thinks my work stress is over, I’m going back to work later this afternoon, and probably tomorrow too! :S
