On Wednesday, my boss V declared that if Trump won, we’d get the following Monday off. And he did, so we did! Holiday for me today!!! :D

I just read that the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s campaign conspired to promote Donald Trump as the presidential nominee of the Republican Party (here and here), as they thought he wouldn’t stand a chance against her. The mainstream media proceeded to give Trump so much free airtime that it undoubtedly benefited him, propelling him straight to the White House. Talk about backfiring big time! Hopefully all of the Democrats are still slapping themselves silly at this moment.
This whole drama reminds me of the Harry Potter series. The antagonist, Lord Voldemort, learns of a prophecy which predicted that ‘the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies‘. Two baby boys fit the description: Neville Longbottom and Harry Potter. Voldemort chooses to seek out out the latter first, thereby igniting an epic saga of events that eventually results in his destruction by Potter’s hand.
Results scheduled to be out at noon tomorrow!
It’s already 8 November in this part of the world, and in just a few hours, Americans will be going to be polls soon! Of course I am #teamtrump!
Was clearing more stuff just now, as part of Operation Clean Room, when I found a Straits Times reprint of the following article (dated 10 December 1999)……
Many Happy Returns for Lost and Found
Culture: Tokyo center relies on honor, public shame to help owners get items back.
By Mark Magnier
TOKYO — This is where it all ends up, everything from bowling balls and crooked dentures to purses, cell phones and umbrellas. Welcome to the Tokyo Metropolitan Lost and Found, a veritable monument to the misplaced, the abandoned, the rejected.
Drop something in a public restroom or in a subway corridor in Tokyo and there’s a good chance you’ll get it back, here in one of the most honest nations on Earth, even if you don’t necessarily want it. And like so much else in Japan, the lost-and-found system is traditional, very well organized and rigorously maintained.
Just ten more days to the election of the most powerful person in the world!
This article gave me a craving for instant noodles! :P (Last ate them more than a year ago!)
Indonesians’ lasting love for instant noodles
By Arlina Arshad
Indonesians’ fascination with the packaged food makes it big business in the archipelago
JAKARTA • A sarong-clad man stands on a clifftop and sings with gusto the opening lines of a famous Indonesian instant noodle TV commercial.
“From Sabang to Merauke…,” he croons, referring to two well-known cities at either end of the archipelago. “Flavour choices may differ, but we are single-hearted on taste.”
Been listening to this song on repeat lately:
On Monday morning, I stood at the sink, brushing my teeth in a post-sleep haze. Suddenly, in a flash, everything fell into place, and I could finally properly count from one to hundred in Kristang!!! :D
Everybody has a little bit of the sun and moon in them. Everybody has a little bit of man, woman, and animal in them. Darks and lights in them. Everyone is part of a connected cosmic system. Part earth and sea, wind and fire, with some salt and dust swimming in them. We have a universe within ourselves that mimics the universe outside. None of us are just black or white, or never wrong or always right. No one. No one person exists without polarities. Everybody has good and bad forces working with them, against them, and within them. This is why we have to learn to accept everybody’s multi-dimensionalism as the new fundamentalism. The same way you love your mother with all her faults is the same way we are supposed to love our sisters and brothers — with all their faults in them. For instance, some say I’m polite and kind but can have a wicked temper in an instant. Nothing is created perfect – unless it is artificially engineered to be. Everybody has several sides to their being that make up who they are. These different facets shift and change depending on mood, experience, social situation, weather, political climate, state of mind, financial state, or environment. People can seem like two or more different people at different parts of the same day. Nobody was created to be one dimensional. We were all born as multi-dimensional beings. Part sun and part moon.
I thought this was a rather meaningful piece!
When love does more harm than good
In trying to shield my children from hurt and rejection, I sometimes end up discouraging them from giving things a shot
By Tee Hun Ching
It was a week before the food and fun fair at our church, and my son was brimming with excitement.
“What can we sell?” he kept asking.
“Nothing,” I replied for the umpteenth time.
This afternoon, I finally reached level 20 (highest: 40) in Pokemon Go. Have also caught, evolved or hatched 76 (out of a possible 141) Pokemon. In fact, I just hatched a grotesquely adorable Mankey today!
Earlier this evening, I sat down on a bench next to a Pokemon Go gym, which was located a couple of streets away from my house. Battled several opposing teams and won a few times, but somehow could not take over the gym. (Still can’t figure out why!)
20 minutes later, I remembered that Pokemon Go was the path to madness, and went home for dinner.
